Terms of Service

Troop Plan ("the app," "the platform") is an internal coordination tool for BSA Troop 222 — provided for scouts, parents/guardians, and adult leaders to manage troop activities. By using it, you agree to these terms.

Who can use this

This app is private and invite-only. Accounts are created and managed by troop leadership — there is no public self-registration. It is not available to, and not intended for, anyone outside Troop 222.

Your account

• Keep your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information for your scout's roster, medical/dietary, and household records — this data is used for real trip planning and safety.
• Troop leadership may suspend or remove an account for misuse or when a family leaves the troop.

Acceptable use

• Use messaging, Scotty, and other features for troop-related purposes only.
• Don't post or share content that's abusive, unsafe, or inappropriate for a scout-facing app — see the Privacy Policy for how content is reviewed.
• Don't attempt to access another household's data, another scout's account, or parts of the app your role isn't meant to see.
• The Scotty assistant answers from local troop data and general knowledge — verify anything safety-critical (permits, medical guidance, deadlines) against the source link it provides or with a leader, rather than relying on it alone.

Community guidelines — zero tolerance

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, sexual content, content that endangers a young person, and spam are not allowed anywhere in the app.

• Report: press and hold (app) or hover (web) any message and choose Report. Troop leaders are notified immediately and review every report within 24 hours. They remove offending content and may suspend or remove the account.
• Block: block anyone from a chat's details screen. You'll stop seeing their messages and they can't start a new chat with you. Youth Protection still applies: a scout's parent/guardian stays copied on adult-scout conversations.
• Youth Protection: following Scouting America rules, adults can't message a scout one-on-one. The scout's parent/guardian, or a second adult, is always included. Groups that include scouts must have either no adults or at least two.
• If you believe a young person is in danger, contact a troop leader and the appropriate authorities right away. Don't rely on in-app reporting alone.

Finance features

Expense reimbursement submissions, dues tracking, and receipt uploads are provided to help the troop's finance volunteers process real reimbursements. Submitting a false or inflated expense is treated the same as it would be through any other troop financial process.

No warranty

This app is run by volunteers for a single troop, not a commercial product. It's provided "as is," without guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Don't rely on it as the sole source for safety-critical information — always confirm permits, medical requirements, and emergency plans through official BSA/council channels as well.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be communicated through the app or troop channels.

Termination

You can stop using the app at any time. Troop leadership may deactivate accounts for families no longer part of Troop 222, or for a violation of these terms.
